Choosing Your Destination (or not!)

The World is Yours to Conquer

Where do you want to go?

That’s the million dollar question.

This is more than just choosing your destination. What do I mean? Well, I have noticed that a lot of travelers, particularly those who are looking at cruise lines have certain expectations, as most of us do when we travel. In choosing your destination and itinerary, you want to make sure that both can meet those expectations. You could have a beautiful trip but, if it wasn’t up to your expectations, then you end up disappointed…and that isn’t good for you or your travel consultant!

I recommend taking a bit of time to let your travel consultant get to know you, who you are and what you want in a vacation. This will help them know just what your expectations are, and help them meet those expectations. A good consultant will be honest and help you to decide whether or not your destination, or that cruise you want to take will meet your expectations, fit your personality or your budget.

Budget

First and foremost, make sure you have a good idea of what your budget is while you are choosing a destination experience. There is nothing worse than coming up with an amazing, grandiose vacation only to realize that you can’t afford it and end up being disappointed by having to cut things out of it. So, by¬†starting¬†with the budget, you have a better idea of what you can do, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a 14 day cruise.

Ask Questions

This is so important. Your travel consultant needs to understand what you are looking for in a great vacation experience. It’s difficult to plan a vacation strictly based on budget. For instance, if you have a budget for a 3 or 4 day cruise, then your travel consultant needs to know what type of cruise experience you’re looking for. There is a big difference between a Carnival Fantasy Cruise and a Silver Seas Winds Cruise. Each ship has it’s own personality and atmosphere. Carnival offers more lower cost, fun, family friendly cruises, with more of a party atmosphere. Great for families or younger people, but maybe not for those looking for a quiet cruise, like can be found on a Silver Seas Cruise, which is closer to an adult resort atmosphere.

Think about your personality, your preferences, and ask questions of your travel consultant about what you want to experience and how to get it. A good travel consultant will help you with that! We are glad to help with all your questions and look forward to getting to know you!
